The greater the significance of a church building whether architecturally, historically, culturally or socially, the greater is the need for a Conservation Management Plan (CMP).  One step up from a Statement of Significance, CMPs are more comprehensive and are essential for projects seeking Heritage Lottery Fund support for development and expansion of community use.

Artemis Heritage has expertise in preparing an outline CMP for a parish to then work with, based on site visits to understand and record the building concerned and desktop research.  The latter includes analysis of historic environment records, sourcing contextual information relating to the history and setting of the building, and identifying important studies about it.  Based on the outline CMP, Artemis Heritage can then facilitate a dialogue with a parish to aid clearer articulation of needs and how these might reasonably be met through effective management of the heritage asset.
